LACK OF NUTRIENTS:  The nutrients we need for good health are no longer found in sufficient amounts in the foods that we eat.  The main reason being; these required nutrients and in particular trace minerals; are no longer in the soils the food grows in.  Many crops are grown with synthetic fertilizers (NPK); which are exempt of trace minerals. Also; many crops are imported from  countries where there are no regulations on crop growth at all.  Wow!  What are we eating? We probably don't really want to know.
We all know the expression " we are what we eat "  ... therefore if the nutrients are not in our foods...  they are not in our bodies... therefore we are unhealthy...therefore we must do something else if we are to enjoy good health.
